Introduction

In today's highly competitive commerce world, professional qualification is a valuable asset and become popular. The uniqueness of qualification examination is to integrate the theoretical knowledge and practical applications so that students would attain a broader perspective and achieve a deeper understanding on the respective areas. To fulfill the needs of the industry in professionalism, the Hong Kong Institution of Textile and Apparel (HKITA) has launched three Advanced Diploma programs: Knitwear Studies and Merchandising ,Apparel Studies and Merchandising & Fashion Design in order to facilitate the students in extending their professional knowledge and attaining an accredited professional qualification.

6 subjects for each program

September 1997

For Study and Examination
Holder of Diploma / Certificate in the relevant fields of study (e.g., fashion, textiles, design, or merchandising from reputable institutions); OR

Individual at least 23 years of age, completion of secondary education and with relevant industrial experience; OR

Individual with other equivalent qualifications acceptable by the HKITA;

For Advanced Diploma in Fashion Design, students should have basic sewing techniques.
